Categories

Organize items into categories:

  • Appetizers, Entrees, Desserts
  • Drinks (Beer, Wine, Cocktails)
  • Specials, Kids Menu

Categories control how items appear on the POS and can be reordered at any time.

Items

Each menu item includes:

Modifiers

Modifiers let guests customize items:

Required Modifiers

  • Must select before adding to order
  • Example: Steak temperature (Rare, Medium, Well Done)

Optional Modifiers

  • Can skip or select multiple
  • Example: Add-ons (Bacon +$2, Extra Cheese +$1)

Nested Modifiers

  • Sub-options within modifiers
  • Example: Sauce → Spicy Level (Mild, Medium, Hot)

Real-Time Updates

86'd Items

Out of an ingredient? Mark items as 86'd:

  1. Long-press the item on POS
  2. Tap 86 Item
  3. Item shows as unavailable until restored

The change syncs across all devices instantly.

Price Changes

Update prices from the Portal:

  1. Go to Menu → Select item
  2. Edit the price
  3. Save—changes go live immediately

Scheduled Menus

Set different menus for different times:

  • Lunch menu (11am–3pm)
  • Dinner menu (5pm–close)
  • Happy hour (4pm–6pm)

Importing Menus

Already have a menu elsewhere? Import it:

  • CSV upload — Standard spreadsheet format
  • Square — Direct migration tool
  • Toast — Export and import
